My husband is pretty easy-going when it comes to certain things. I’m so very glad.
For example, after I got the basement cleaned up a few months ago, he brought home a desk. His unit was getting new office furniture and they let him take his old desk. We were both pretty excited about having a place to sit and work and not have to move stuff from kitchen table to bed to couch.
To make a longish story shorter, the desk has become mine. Maybe because I was the one who sat at it the most. Maybe because I put a bunch of pretty stuff on it. Let me show you:
On this side we have a lovely tea cup and saucer, a fun tin that holds my chocolate chips, and my pretty blogging, budgeting, and editing folders.
And on this side is my fun apple post-it note dispenser, my mug rug from Seams Inspired, and a larger-than-average calculator.
It has become one of my favorite spots.
My husband is ok with that. He actually created another spot for himself on the other side of the basement, using some large tables we had over there. I think he likes that space better than where the “real” desk sits.
We’ve had a couple of good laughs over how he brought the desk home “for me.”

It looks as though everything belongs just where it is! So thankful your husband sees that, too
(and I love how the chocolate chips take a prominent place — girl after my own heart!) 🙂

What a sweet hubby…and isn’t that mug rug just the most awesomest in the whole wide world!!!!!

Nice score on the desk! And I love the mug rug! I don’t drink coffee, but I always have a cup of ice water nearby, and an occassional cup of hot cocoa. 🙂
That is a beautiful desk! I love the wood.
I always have a secret stash of chocolate chips handy!
That was nice of him to “give” the desk to you!
Cute desk! So does this let your husband off the hook for Valentine’s Day? 🙂
Hmmm…it should, shouldn’t it?! Maybe I’ll just ask that he refill my chocolate chip container. : )
