“The apostles came up and said to the Master, ‘Give us more faith.’
But the Master said, ‘You don’t need more faith. There is no ‘more’ or ‘less’ in faith. If you have a bare kernel of faith, say the size of a poppy seed, you could say to this sycamore tree, ‘Go jump in the lake,’ and it would do it.”
What struck me about this verse is the point that the amount of faith we have is not the important thing. What matters is that we USE the faith we have.
Just something to think about.
I love this!!
It’s not a wimpy “I believe…” (with new agey music in the background.)
It’s a honest, and sincere “I believe,” trusting in the God who created the world, parted the Red Sea, raised people from the dead, and heals the sick.
Nice reminder. 🙂
You’re exactly right!
Just heard someone use this same scripture and he said it shows that more Faith can’t be measured. Just Faith the size of a mustard seed. I think I will go ponder… 🙂
I hope your pondering led to some great thoughts! Thanks for stopping by today!
excellent point!!! i love that God also promises to be right beside us when we do use our faith.
That definitely is an encouraging thought! Thanks for that reminder!
Yes!! So true – wonderful meditation!!
never saw that like that before~ great insight. what a freeing thought to realize it’s not me trying to muster up MORE faith, but acting upon what i already have!!
