“With all this going on for us, my dear, dear friends, stand your ground. And don’t hold back. Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort.” 1 Cor. 15:58 (The Message)
“Work from the heart for your real Master, for God, confident that you’ll get paid in full when you come into your inheritance. Keep in mind always that the ultimate Master you’re serving is Christ.” Col. 3:23-24 (The Message)
My husband and I have a favorite movie that is entitled “Return to Me.” At one point, a granddaughter asks her grandfather, “Do you want any help, Grandpa?” To which he responds, “No thank you Gracie, I’m blessed with work.”
What an attitude!
On this Labor Day, may we remember that what we do–our work, our parenting, our teaching, our volunteering, our writing, whatever–is a blessing from our Father, we ultimately work for Him, and He deserves our best.
What great verses for today!! Thanks so much for sharing 🙂
They did seem pretty appropriate for the day!
love that movie too.. it’s been a long time since i’ve seen it. i’ll have to pull it out!
and yes, great attitude! BLESSED with work. having times in our lives when we weren’t i can say a hearty amen to that. 🙂
have a great day~
We are still in a time of not having much work, so I feel VERY blessed anytime there’s an opportunity for a job for my husband. “Blessed with work” takes on a whole new meaning during those times, doesn’t it?!
I’m so glad you stopped by today Amber! I really do miss you. How is Canada this time of year? Is it cold already?
I hope you had a good labor day! And, I hope you have a wonderful week!
