For Love of Words

Monday Meditation

Monday Meditation

10 Oct

“Post this at all the intersections, dear friends: Lead with your ears, follow up with your tongue, and let anger straggle along in the rear. God’s righteousness doesn’t grow from human anger.”  (emphasis mine)

These verses out of James (1:19-20) were very convicting to me this week. Too many times I’ve gotten angry at my children for not acting right or having a wrong attitude before listening and trying to understand what is really going on, before trying to gently teach.

Reacting instead of Responding.

My prayer this week is that my anger would straggle along in the rear.
