“It’s impossible to please God apart from faith. And why? Because anyone who wants to approach God must believe both that he exists and that he cares enough to respond to those who seek him.” Heb. 11:6 (The Message)
It does take a certain level of faith to be able to acknowledge that, “Yes, God is real, and able to do…”
The faith that pleases God? That says, “Not only is he able, but I trust that he will do what he promises.”
There is a difference between the two. Where do you find yourself? Can you trust this week that not only is your Father capable of responding to you, but that he desires to as well?
My devotional this morning said just about the same thing. “The essence of being a Christian is placing all our hope in God, knowing we can trust him to fulfill all his promises–even the ones that haven’t been fulfilled yet.”
It’s an ongoing work of the heart, isn’t it? At least, for me it is. Great post, Lisa! Happy Monday! 🙂
