“Is there any encouragement from belonging to Christ? Any comfort from his love? Any fellowship together in the Spirit? Are your hearts tender and sympathetic? Then make me truly happy by agreeing wholeheartedly with each other, loving one another, and working together with one heart and purpose.” Phil. 2:1-2 (NLT, emphasis mine)

This was part of the passage that the pastor focused on in yesterday’s sermon. He was talking about unity within the church, and in relationships in general. But, my attention was caught by a note I had written in the margin of my Bible.

It was dated 5/03. That was almost 9 years ago. My note said, “This needs to be my constant prayer for our marriage.”

I am saddened by the fact that I have not made it my constant prayer over the past 9 years.

But, I can start again–today.

What is your prayer for your marriage this week?

What a great prayer, thank you. And it’s never too late – your post, and your prayer, reminded me how lucky my husband and I are. We had both lost our first spouses to cancer when we met 12 years ago, and thank the Lord that we were given a second chance at happiness, together πŸ™‚

Lisa, that is beautiful….. Did I ever tell you that we married, divorced and remarried…not long ago, we almost separated….it was not pretty….but, a couple from our church took us under their wing and we went through Marriage Mentoring for a year……a year of deep prayer…and allowing God to transform our hearts for each other. Thank yo for this prayer….It was needed today!
