“This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean,
who carves a path through pounding waves,
the God who summons horses and chariots and armies–
they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles:
‘Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it?'”
Isaiah 43:16-19 (The Message)
My dad mentioned this verse as a great one for a new year, and I thought I would share it today. May 2013 be a year when we are able to be alert and present and able to see whatever God is doing.
Perfect words for a new year…
‘Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history.
Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new.
So true!
Yes and amen! That is a GREAT verse for ANY day! thanks for sharing it Lisa!!!

Hi Lisa! I get your posts in email and it’s been TOOOOO long since I’ve stopped by to comment! ack!
but I had to tell you how much I loved this. The translation I hadn’t read (although I did get through the New Testament in The Message based on your suggestion in 2012). And then these verse for the New Year…I love it.
What a wise dad you have! Thanks for sharing! {HUGS}
Thank you Nikki!
I still get your posts as well, and I’ve been just as remiss in commenting! We should keep in better touch in this new year! 🙂
