Monday Meditation

I came across this passage in Philippians not too long ago. I thought it would be a great one to turn into a prayer for my kids.

“Do everything readily and cheerfully–no bickering, no second-guessing allowed! Go out into the world uncorrupted, a breath of fresh air in this squalid and polluted society. Provide people with a glimpse of good living and of the living God. Carry the light-giving Message into the night so I’ll have good cause to be proud of you on the day that Christ returns. You’ll be living proof that I didn’t go to all this work for nothing.” (Phil. 2:15-16, The Message)

This is wholeheartedly what I desire for my children!

    It’s been a long time since I read the Message. It definitely sheds more light on a passage, especially for the youngsters! A wonderful prayer…

    Blessings, Debbie

    I have had Psalms 1:1-2 circled ever since my boys were little with their names beside the verses.
    I just saw your post before this too about the fire pit. We also have one out back and do the smores…love them. Also roast hot dogs and my husband makes a great blackberry cobbler in the dutch oven over the fire:)

    lisa, this is such a powerful prayer. beautiful.

    i find The Message to be like a few extra watts in a lightbulb. helping me to really SEE what He’s wanting to reveal to my heart and mind.

    the verses with my kids that i keep coming back to are;
    micah 6:8 and deut. 30:20.

    Thanks for the verses! I think I’ll use these for my kids as well. I use my NIV bible to cull verses, but The Message is easier for my kids to understand. They each have the New Testamant Message Translation. Thanks so much for sharing. Happy iFellowship! ☺
