Today’s Meditation verse comes from Colossians. I’ve decided to use it as my motto as I teach our children at home.
“We teach in a spirit of profound common sense so that we can bring each person to maturity. To be mature is to be basic. Christ! No more, no less. That’s what I’m working so hard at day after day, year after year, doing my best with the energy God so generously gives me.” (Col. 1:28-29 The Message)
I know that Paul was talking about teaching the truths of the gospel, but I think it very fitting as I look at what I desire my teaching to accomplish as well. Ultimately, I want my children to be so much more than merely well-educated. I want them to be mature in their relationship with Christ. I cannot MAKE that happen, but hopefully I can teach in such a way as to facilitate their growth and maturity.
May God bless you this week!
