Monday Meditation

Monday Meditation

21 Feb
“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life–your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life–and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”
(Romans 12:1-2, The Message)

Can I just say, “Wow!” I’m not going to make a bunch of comments. I’ll just let you chew on all that’s in those verses. Ask yourself the tough questions, and be honest with your answers. That’s what I will be doing too.

May your week be blessed as you fix your attention on God.

I'm a new follower. Thanks for the great message in these verses. I think as a homeschooling mom, I tend to over do in several areas while seriously falling behind in others.

To fix out attnetion on God takes a lot more thought and action than one might think. Well, for me at any rate. With this blog land (read my fellowshi here), two starting home schoolers, and a husband to flood with love, I get side tracked easier than I would like to admit. Thanks for the reminder of where my focus ought to be, on Him who has so richly blessed me with all I have. *big smile*

Oh, and I read your home school tab, I thought I was the only one who kind of looked at where our kids are and continued to scholasticlaly challenge them with things I can find for the cost of printer paper. *smile* Ours are 5 and 3 … beginners, and still growing and learning just like me. *big smile* God is good! Sincerely, Mommy of two little blessings & so much more!

I like reading from translations like this every once in a while- it does put something in perspective doesnt it. I like the part about not becoming so well adjusted to our culture that we it in without realizing it— we so easily do that!
