School on the Brain

Homeschooling

Since I have school on the brain this week, as I read through Scripture there are passages that jump out at me as being school-related! They are either motivational in nature for me, or they apply to our desires for our girls, or they highlight a key element of teaching our children. Anyway, this is the one I read today in The Message:

“Good friend, take to heart what I’m telling you; collect my counsels and guard them with your life.

Tune your ears to the world of Wisdom; set your heart on a life of Understanding.

That’s right–if you make Insight your priority, and won’t take no for an answer,

Searching for it like a prospector panning for gold, like an adventurer on a treasure hunt,

Believe me, before you know it Fear-of-God will be yours; you’ll have come upon the Knowledge of God.” Prov. 2:1-5

Wisdom, Understanding, Insight, Fear-of-God, Knowledge of God–could there be any greater goals for our own lives and the lives of our children?!

I think I’m going to make this one of our school’s “Verses of the Year.”

What Scripture verses have you found inspiring lately? Come join us at The Wednesday Word!

What a fantastic verse and I love the way the Message reads it. Oh, to have wisdom…I love the verse that says,” If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” Thanks for reminding us of this. I need to keep asking. Thanks for linking up at The Wednesday Word 🙂

Great verse! I think we’ll use that for our opening copybook entry this year! Thanks Lisa…

    Blessings , Debbie
