“Please Show Them, Mommy!”

Homeschooling

7 Apr

My kids know that I blog, and I’m ok with that. My oldest can be heard saying things like, “Mom, puleeze don’t write about this or show this picture on your blog!” And I respect her request. What’s kind of funny is that she has started her own little bloggy thing on a Christian kids website!

My youngest, on the other hand, has asked me before to post certain pictures of her. And I respect her request! : ) Yesterday, she said, “Mommy, would you show the people who read your blog the pictures of me painting, and what I painted?” Of course, I assured her I would!

And ever since I told her that, she’s been asking me every hour (well, maybe not quite that often, but often enough!) if I have posted them yet. I didn’t get to it earlier today, so I promised her I would have it done and ready for her viewing pleasure by the time she got up tomorrow morning. Thus, I’m sitting here at 11:15pm.

She has decided she wants to be an artist of some kind when she grows up, and she figured she’d better start practicing now. So, at the homeschool convention she picked out an artist’s paint palette and some good brushes. She’s been painting in the evenings while I read out loud to them.

Here are two of her favorites that she’s done so far:

And since I will probably let her read this post, let me just say, “Emily, I’m so glad you’ve found something that you really enjoy doing! Keep at it and who knows how far you’ll go?! I love you my budding artist!”

Lisa is a great editor. She is thorough, and offers suggestions to help ensure my articles and ebooks are clear and concise. She’s a great communicator and has a way of offering suggestions and feedback in a positive manner. Having an editor you feel is as invested in your work as you are is priceless. That’s what you get with Lisa.
