“You could think of this book as a one-volume theology of audacity. You probably don’t have one of those yet, but it’s essential. In fact, if you ever encounter a theology that doesn’t connect the greatness of God with your potential to do great things on his behalf, it’s not biblical theology. File it under heresy. I’ll take you further: if you’re not daring to believe God for the impossible, you’re sleeping through some of the best parts of your Christian life. And further still: if the size of your vision for your life isn’t intimidating to you, there’s a good chance it’s insulting to God.”
In a word, this book is EXCITING! I was challenged, motivated, and helped to start praying audaciously, which Furtick defines as, “‘making regular people behave with boldness or daring, especially with confident disregard for personal comfort [or] conventional thought.'”
Furtick uses the story of Joshua fighting the Amorites in Joshua 10 and his subsequent prayer that the sun would stand still so they could continue to fight, to launch a passionate and yet balanced approach to praying BIG prayers. Furtick does not describe a pie-in-the-sky, name-it-and-claim it faith, but a grounded belief in the ability of our God to do great things when we ask boldly based on His promises and ways.
I would recommend this book with enthusiasm and dare anyone who reads it not to be excited by what they read!
(I received this book for free from WaterBrook Multnomah Publishing Group for this review.)
This sounds like a great book to read! I hope I remember it after we've moved and I have time to read again. 😉

I love that story- might put that on my TO read list!
I remember a few weeks ago in Bible the kids and I read that story again and then a few days later read about Jonathan and GOD shouting so loud that the Philistines were confused but NONE of the Isrealites were..
OUR GOD IS AN AWESOME GOD!
