Thankful Thursday

Thankful Thursday

10 May

I’m trying not to be a whiner this week. I’m missing my husband. Sunday is Mother’s Day and our anniversary and he’s not going to be here.

So, to combat the desire to feel sorry for myself, I’m deliberately listing things to be grateful for today:

  • 19 days of school left for this year
  • Giant chocolate chip cookies
  • Rachael Carman’s book How to Have a Heart for Your Kids
  • New writing opportunities
  • The hope of my heart’s true home–eternity spent with the Lover of my soul
  • This baby:

  • Time to sit and reflect
  • Comfortable flip-flops (they’re hard to find!)
  • Despite the ultra-long, crazy travel day, my husband made it safely to his class
  • The pretty distraction that she is:

  • Really good apples
  • The Apple Store (long story here–suffice it to say, lots of work done at no charge)
  • People who are way more tech-savvy than I

And now I really don’t feel like whining quite so much! I hope you can find things, large and small, to be thankful for today.

Good coffee, good apples, time to enjoy both of them…and school is almost out!  I’d say you’re battling those whiny days pretty well!!!!

I can’t imagine how you cope – but I know you will! Praying for you and your girls that you will constantly find little ways to enjoy each other!

It’s your anniversary?  On Sunday?  Ours is Monday…7yrs.  😉
I’m sorry your hubby won’t be home… I’ll be thinking of you.  I like your list.  It’s always good to choose JOY rather then whine…and believe me, I’m learning this very much, myself.

I find listing my “Thank you God for . . . ” cures my whinies, too! And know you are in good company: Christmas, New Year’s, my birthday, Valentine’s and our anniversary have all been non-existent for us this year.

What a cute kitty! My husband got a Keurig too and even though I wasn’t crazy about the idea, I think it’s growing on me. I might go have a cup now!

Since we don’t drink huge amounts of coffee (i.e. a coffee pot) the Keurig works great for us. I also like getting to choose different flavors at different times!

      Enjoy your cup! : )

I’m sorry your husband won’t be with you on your anniversary or Mother’s Day.  I have been there.  I know it isn’t easy, but I hope knowing that we, your friends, are praying for you and standing behind you helps a little.  I wish you both many more years of love, health and happiness together.  My hubby will be gone again this Father’s Day.  Since we had kids 14 years ago, he has missed 12 of those 14 Father’s Days.  🙁  Much love and prayers to you, my friend!  🙂
