I’m tired.
It takes a while for momma to get back into a school routine too! It’s been a good week, but adjusting from the relaxed summer schedule has proven more difficult than I expected.
Nevertheless, I have much to be thankful for this week:
- My programmable Keurig coffee maker
- Encouraging twitter friends who help with early morning motivation
- Late night girl talks (even if they’re part of the reason for being tired! Why, oh why, do teenagers come alive so late at night?!)
- Successful Peter Pan audition for my oldest
- Realizing the need to re-focus my time and attention–even if it hurts a little
- The hope that God can redeem anything
- An invitation for my youngest to spend some time with girls her age (a true answer to prayer)
- New babies
- Gorgeous sunrises, and…
- Hubby gets to come home this weekend for a visit!
Again, sorry about the lack of pictures! I really should get back into the habit of picking up my camera throughout the day. Hopefully I’ll remember to take some this weekend.
I hope you can find things, large and small, to be thankful for today!
Twitter is amazing in the mornings isn’t it? I’m a part of Hello Mornings. Great girls there!
Yes! I’ve been a part of a Hello Mornings group for a while now, and it has made a world of difference in my mornings! Thanks for stopping by today!
I’m very glad for you that your hubby is coming home. May you both find peaceful reintegration moments. And yes, I understand what you mean about teens opening up at night. I had the best talks with my son now- on his own- at those times. I remember when he was about 17, dad was in Kuwait, we had some of the best talks. Sometimes I was so not up to it, but looking back now, they were great discussions when I really got to know him as his own man and I am glad I stayed up for them.
God bless you, thanks for your service with him. We soldiers and families appreciate you!
Thank you so much!
I’ve realized that no matter how tired I am, being available for those conversations is really important. Hopefully this weekend her dad will get some chances to experience this! π
Glad your hubby is getting to come home for a visit! Also congrats on the Peter Pan good news. I KNOW how it is to have a Drama girl. Not a ‘Drama Queen’ but a Drama girl. π Also good news on friends her own age for your youngest. The older Keilee gets the more I realize that it is important to have friends her age.. I love those late night talks too. They seem so ‘real’. “God can redeem anything” So true!
We get into some really tough, serious stuff in those conversations, which is why I don’t want to miss them! Thanks for stopping by today! Have a great weekend.
Having your girls want to talk with you is definitely something to thankful for. I’m so happy you have that kind of relationship with them. Very precious, but hard nonetheless. I’m thankful your hubby gets to come home for a visit too! How exciting for you all. I can understand about the friends issue with your girls too. My oldest seems to struggle with finding friends her age. It’s a hard thing.
It’s just been hard on my youngest because her older sister has a lot through her theater group. She’s really looking forward to making new friends her own age this year. It is a hard thing to watch your kids struggle, isn’t it?!
Ah, yes…routine and beginning another school year. I hear you!! In these here parts, we begin day after Labour Day…so, this is our last weekend of freedom! Enjoy your visit with your hubby…what a blessing! π
Blessings,
Camille
Thank you! We are all looking forward to his visit. We even get an extra day because of the holiday! π Enjoy your weekend!
Hope you’re having a great weekend with your husband home!
I enjoy the talks with my teen that seem to come up more often now–at least most of them. It is wonderful, and scary, to have daughters.
