Thankful Thursday–The “No Spring Break” Edition

Thankful Thursday

3 Apr

My girls are convinced they are the only kids in the country who don’t get a spring break this week. They might be right, but there’s reason for it, which will come the first part of May.

Anyway, even though we’re still doing school this week, there has been some fun as well!

These are the moments I am grateful for this week.

I’m so thankful we decided to take that impromptu trip into the city. We had a lot of fun! It’s a favorite place for the girls and I, and I’m glad Ron was able to go along with us this time.

I’m thankful for a slightly slower pace this week. Since everyone else in the area is on spring break, we’ve not had lessons, evening rehearsals, or special groups.

I’m thankful for the young couple we met this week who have been used by the Lord as a huge blessing to us. It’s a pretty amazing God-story that I will be free to tell soon.

I’m thankful that in one week I will be heading to the Titus 2:1 Conference! I’m grateful for the help in getting there as well. My sponsors, Homeschool Blogging and Progeny Press have been so fun to work with already!

I hope you can find things, large and small, to be thankful for today. And if you’ve written a gratitude post, please link it up and visit others who link up as well.

My kids didn’t have a spring break this week either. They were sick last week, so we had to catch up. They wanted school to end on time this year.

I’m sorry they were sick! We wanted to be done on time this year as well, although with the time off we’re going to have to take in May we are still not going to be done until mid-June.

It’s one of the great things about homeschooling! They’ll be glad to know they’re not alone.

I love the Shedd Aquarium!! I told Ken we needed to plan a trip to Chicago just to go there again. Of course, we’ll also check in with the family 🙂

I didn’t realize you have family in Chicago. It really is a great city and we will miss it!

Catching up again. Our Spring Break was early here–we worked through it. Then I think we were in Scotland during the “regular” spring break. Nice to have slower days.
