The Saturday Morning Review–After Nine to Five

Saturday Morning Review

After attending a couple of blogging conferences this past year, I had been thinking about how it might be important to have a ready-to-go media kit for this site. I was getting offers for product reviews, guest posts, and such, and was also learning how to approach homeschool companies about their products and services.

I wanted to be able to inform these people, quickly, succinctly, and professionally what The Army Chap’s Wife is all about and why working together could be a beneficial thing.

Trouble was, I just didn’t have the skills, time, or drive to create a media kit for myself. So I did nothing.

Enter After Nine to Five!

Actually, enter Ashley Griffith, the creative mind behind the name. I was reading through the Story Social Media twitter feed a week or so ago and saw a link to Ashley’s site. I went and looked around, liked what I saw, and contacted her. She replied to my email that same day!

In response to my questions about a media kit, she explained her process, time frame, exactly what I would receive, cost, and options. I gave the go-ahead, and I’m so glad I did!

The process was painless–she sent me a list of easy questions to answer, I sent back my answers, she made a draft for me to see, I asked her to change one of the fonts, she finalized the draft with the new font, I told her it looked great, and she sent me my brand new media kit. All of this happened within a week.

I received 4 different files–a full-color JPEG, a black and white JPEG, a full-color PDF, and a black and white PDF. She let me know that if I needed it in a different format, all I had to do was ask. AND, my kit comes with a year’s worth of stats updates that she will make for me!

If you’re a blogger and are interested in having a media kit but have put it off because of lack of know-how or time, may I recommend that you get in touch with Ashley? I think you’ll be glad you did.

(And, if you’re not in the market for a media kit, Ashley and her husband also have their own line of very cool beauty, bath, and body products. You can find them on Etsy at The Gnarly Whale.)

(The legal stuff: Ashley gave me a discount on my media kit in exchange for letting my readers know about her services. My opinions are entirely my own.)
