Age spots AND wrinkles AND zits, oh my!
Yes, that’s what this 40-something year old mama has to deal with. It just doesn’t seem quite fair.
The age spots and wrinkles don’t bother me as much as the acne does, however, and I have spent much time, energy, and money trying to figure out a skin-care regimen that actually works.
So, when Nicole at Dermagist approached me about using and writing about their skin care system, I was glad to give it a try!
Why is Resveratrol such a PERFECT Ingredient for use on acne-prone skin?
It targets the causes of acne-prone skin, but without the possible side effects of many common solutions. Plus, Resveratrol is a world renowned anti oxidant with tremendous age-defying benefits. So, the Dermagist Clarifying system aims to benefit the causes of acne-prone skin, calms and soothes the skin, PLUS has tremendous age defying benefits. Quite a one-two punch. |
So here are my thoughts:
The Great
I noticed right away that my skin felt really good. There was a smoothness and softness to it that was nice. It didn’t over-dry my face, which means that it didn’t make my skin go into overdrive, producing extra oil. That’s always a benefit! I also noticed that there was a little fading of some of the redness in my complexion. And, when the acne flared up, it seemed to heal and go away quicker.
There are only two steps in this system. I’ve used acne systems before which required four or five different steps or separate products! It was beneficial to me–time-wise–to just use the cleanser and clarifying cream and be done!
The OK
I know, I know, I shouldn’t expect miracles, but I still do when trying new facial or acne products. Dermagist seemed to help some with the acne, but I still dealt with breakouts like before I started using it. Like I mentioned previously, the breakouts healed quicker, but the products didn’t keep them away like I was hoping.
The Not-So-Great
The price is the not-so-great part about Dermagist. I realize that quality skin care products are usually a little pricey, but Dermagist is pretty high up there. One set of the Clarifying System for Acne-Prone Skin (a 45-day supply) is $79.99. If you buy 2 sets at one time, it’s a bit more cost-effective. A 90-day supply is $119.98. Right now, on the website, there is a contest to win a $200 shopping spree!
Overall, it felt good to know that I was putting good stuff on my skin. I liked the way my skin felt while using this, even if it didn’t clear up all the acne. But, the cost makes me wince more than a little when I think of continuing to use Dermagist’s Acne System.
Redness and breakouts? My question is could you possibly have a form of rosacea? I was diagnosed with it a few years ago, and I have found some things that help.
I suppose it’s possible, but I really think it’s just acne. What have you been using?
