Things Not Heard 10 Years Ago

Christian Life

19 Sep

This was never heard 10 years ago:

“Do you pin?”

Do you know what that means now? Do you actually do it?

Yes, Pinterest–the newest craze that’s taken the world’s (well, maybe not the world) attention.

I have an account. I never use it or do anything with it. Oh, I’ve heard and read all the good, educational, helpful, etc. etc. reasons to be active on there. It’s just not for me. And I’m ok with that.

BUT,

for those of you who are avid “pinners” (is that even a word?!) I need to tell you about this!

As you know by now, I’m blogging for Compassion this month. They’ve set the mighty goal of 3,108 children in poverty to be sponsored during September. The latest numbers: 1,515 children sponsored, 1,593 to go!

So what does this have to do with Pinterest? Compassion is running a Pinterest contest!

And because I’ll never be able to explain it very well, I’m going to send you to a fun-filled “how-to” page that tells all about how to participate in the contest. So, please take a moment to click over. Please. Maybe now if you have a moment? It’s at the Compassion Blog.

What?! You can’t pin stuff to a “My Compassion Child” board because you’re not a sponsor yet? I know a way to fix that! This Sponsor a Child page should help. And did you read the part that said you get 30 extra entries in the contest if you sign up to be a sponsor?!

So all you pinners out there–put those skills to good use and let’s get those remaining children sponsored!

I don’t pin either…I guess it isn’t for everyone. 🙂 Thank you for this encouragement to sponsor a child, though…I really want to do something like this with our children! I’m writing myself a note (*old fashioned pinning*) right now. 🙂

    Blessings to you!
