If you had been at my house this week, you might have heard conversations like this:
Me: “Why is there toothpaste on the floor?”
Hubby: “Because I used it to fill a hole in the ceiling.”
(Hey! It’s the newest thing in ceiling spackle these days!)
Me: “What is something new you learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. in our study today?”
Daughter: “That he was stabbed with a letter opener.”
(This is a fact, but I was hoping for…something else.)
Daughter: “Bend your head down for a second, Mom.”
Me: (Bending head down) “Why?”
Daughter: “Hmm…just noticing all the gray hair.”
(Thank you so much for that one!)
Daughter: Β (after her dad said something totally off the wall) “Dad, that’s not funny. Not even on Mars.”
I have been trying to find the humor in life more often these days, and paying attention to snippets of conversation like these is quite fun!
What silly, humorous, or fun conversations have gone on at your house recently? Do share!
This post has been submitted for inclusion in The Christian Home Magazine Issue 46. As the featured columnist for the Gentle Humor column, I will be sharing something weekly that will, hopefully, bring a smile to your day!
LOL – I love the grey hairs π Life with toddlers is always filled with something funny…it never ends here in the good house π
If you look for the humor, you will certainly find it. π
We had a rough few days, but we’re hoping for laughter today. Attitudes are much better today…um, it’s only 8am, so we’ll see. π Happy Saturday!
LOL! Too funny Lisa! Hmmmm….can’t think of any funny sayings that have gone on here recently, but I am sure there have been many. I will have to pay attention more. π Thanks for the chuckle. Have a great day!
Blessings,
Camille

Life would be much more miserable if we couldn’t find the humor in it.
